    Engage Jeffco Schools

    Jeffco Public Schools want you to participate as they take the lead on evolving educational initiatives affecting the children of Jefferson County and the state of Colorado. Community engagement is a critical component for the success of our schools and students. Because attendance at meetings is not always possible, you are invited to a "virtual town hall" experience at Engage Jeffco Schools.

    2013-14 CAEGTC Teacher Scholarship

    The Colorado Academy of Educators for the Gifted Talented and Creative (CAEGTC) awards scholarships to teachers who have a demonstrated commitment to a career in Gifted Education.  Applicants must be pursuing a graduate degree or endorsement in Gifted Education.   The 2013-2014  Academy Teacher Scholarship will provide up to $500 to selected recipients.  One scholarship will be awarded in honor of Shirley Weddel and a second scholarship will be awarded on behalf of CAEGTC. Oct. 31 application deadline.

    Please help raise awareness among Jeffco Board of Education members about the programming needs of our Gifted & Talented students at the upcoming Community Engagement meetings. There are currently 250 students on the wait list for GT Center Program placement. There is no space for these students in current GT Center facilities.

    Crows and parrots are both very intelligent. A study was done to to compare how birds of both species dealt with the identical problems. The results provide insight as to how body types, environments and even "personality" impact the ways intelligence reveals itself.
