Jefferson County Destination Imagination Team Takes 5th Place at Global Finals

A team of 5 students from the Manning School, Creighton Middle School, and Prospect Valley Elementary competed in the Destination Imagination Global Finals Competition in May 2014 in Knoxville, TN.

This team, ranging in age from 10 to 14 years old, chose to compete in the Structural Challenge. After receiving the DaVinci Award, which recognizes Outstanding Creativity, at the Regional competition, the team earned first place in the State competition and advanced to Globals. Congratulations to Aidan, Brian, Jordyn, Sydney, and Melody for their 5th place finish (out of 89 teams) in the Global Finals Competition!

In Destination Imagination, teams select one of seven open-ended challenges and present their solution at a tournament. The areas of focus include: Technical, Scientific, Fine Arts, Improvisational, Structural and Service Learning. Teams learn important life skills like time management, collaboration, conflict resolution, and creative and critical thinking. They have a whole lot of fun while learning. It is one of the most fulfilling and memorable experiences you can provide for your child.
